TRAINING AND PLACEMENT CELL
Our Placement Score is a major index that projects our quality education image to the outside world. With this end in view, the College has formed a separate ‘Department of Training & Placement-i2i(Institute to Industry)’ headed by a senior Professor ,Lecturer & Asst.professors from in and outside college. The department is well equipped with the necessary infrastructure for conducting its activities.
Various activities that are undertaken by the Department are as follows:
Pre Placement Training for Students : The department also arranges Pre Placement Training of the students where they are given adequate dosage on Communication Skills, English Language capability, Personality development, Logical Reasoning, Quick Arithmetics, Group Discussion, Personal Interview etc. In the past we had engaged Nilachal Associates, Monster Team, Bhubaneswar to impart such training to our students. Currently, FreshersAlert & BIL Team, Bhubaneswar is conducting such activities. Training is futile if there is no assessment. With this in mind, we conduct Common Placement Test, so that the students can know where they stand in the Job Market and re-organise themselves for future.
Summer Training: With the establishment of Biju Patnaik University of Technology (BPUT), Rourkela as per an enactment of the State Legislature, it is now affiliated to the BPUT. While Practical Training had been a curricular requirement as per theregulations of the earlier university, it has been made optional by the BPUT. However, with a view to giving the students a feel of field life before they step into the real world, and enhancing their Placement potentiality, we encourage and arrange Practical Training to be taken during Summer Vacations for all the students after their 2nd and 3rd years. Our Students have done their Summer Training in many big Corporate houses and Govt. Organiations such as Sohayo, KM Power, Hyma Plates & Vesse, Bikash Infosystem Ltd, HCL, Global Step, Aerosoft Corp, RSP, NALCO, BSNL, MTNL, HCL Technologies, Siemens, Pentasoft , TATA Steel, Novell, etc, to name a few.
Quality Improvement Training for Faculty :Round the year staff members are deputed to various institutions of the country to attend seminars and conferences and present papers with a view to encouraging their academic pursuits.
Placement of the students : The department interacts extensively with companies and arranges on and off campus interviews for its students. Its efforts have borne fruit very early (Check the placement Statistics 2012-13) and it hopes to better the placement achievement every year.
Arranging extra curricular activities : The department organises Study Tour of students to various Industries all over the country, Orientation Programme for the Freshers, Sports, several cultural activities and issue of Railway Concessions to the students for joining Training Organisations, going to their native place during vacations and attending national seminars and cultural programmes anywhere in the country. Besides arranging the statutory Vocational Summer Training, the Training and Placement department also conducts Technical as well as Non-Technical Seminars by inviting reputed academicians and erudite scholars from IIT s, NITs and other Professionals from leading industries.
